An overview of physical therapy - and what to expect at our clinics.

What do physical therapists do?
Simply put, physical therapists work to restore and promote optimal physical function. At Advanced Center for Physical Therapy, this means we begin every client relationship with a thorough examination to identify potential and existing problems. Before we design your individualized program, we will discuss your history in detail and use established tests and measures to forecast how successful we can be in addressing your issue.
What is the treatment process at Advanced Center for Physical Therapy?
After your initial evaluation, we'll provide treatment that includes manual skills and exercises to address your specific dysfunction. We'll also design an exercise program for you to do independently. Working with your physical therapist and on your own will optimize your recovery process - getting you back to your regular activities as quickly and safely as possible. Reassessments will be conducted throughout your course of treatment to keep the momentum going. As needed, we will adjust your program to meet your specific needs.
What are the skills and qualifications our therapists?
Our therapists are experts in the assessment and treatment of movement dysfunction. Their education and experience allows them to promote optimal wellness, fitness and quality of life as it relates to movement and health. We encourage advanced training and our therapists possess advanced degrees; board certifications through the American Board of Physical Therapy such as Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS) and Sports Certified Specialist (SCS); and post-graduate certifications such as Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).
